Great!!!

Hard to believe its free. Great for my little piece of crap itouch2g. Im sure there has to be a better one for iPad but this is great for the on the go bankrupt musicians. Only downside is no audio.

Well...

Its a good idea but the interface has to be a lot more user friendly, as currently, a single accidental touch could ruin a piece and you would have to start over from the beginning. Make the app easier to use and I will give five stars.

Nice!

Perfect app for writing music, except its missing crescendos and diminuendos. Add these in and Ill change my rating.

Amazing

Get he full version! I love this app. I have the iPhone version and the iPad version and they are both truly amazing! I figured entering music this way would be cumbersome, but its incredibly easy and intuitive. I cant think of a single thing that would improve it. Well done!

Not User Friendly

Out-dated

Sounds good but…

Very "touchy" to use. Difficult to touch the exact spot to change note values, move notes, etc. Accidental touch can really mess things up. I have spent 2 or 3 hours & have only one measure correct so far! An "Undo" feature would help considerably. Im giving up on it.

Unusable on iPhone with retina display

After several tries, could not get app to correctly identify notes entered.

Meh

Its a good app, especially if you want to write music... For piano. This is the advice I would give if you were writing the music for another instrument; write the same notes, then email the song to you and print it off. I would also like to point out that this does not work on iPod touch or iPhone. If you want to use this app, you need an iPad.

Needs MusicXML File Transfer

Nice app, but wont purchase till you add MusicXML file transfer seems pretty standard nowadays.

I love it but the new update is annoying

In the past it was really easy to place notes, change the time signature, etc. I just dont like how the new version set pretty much everything up. I hope they change it back but somehow keep the newly added notes.

The Best Composition Tool on the App Store

This as the title says, is the best tool for transposing and creating music in the App Store. It has everything. Dynamic markers, decrescendo and crescendo, accents, slurs, ties, tempo markings, a crap ton of instruments, to be played using any clef, including the obscure clefs like tenor and alto. You can transpose octaves and keys, choose repeats, first and second endings, there is no end the the tools this app provides, you can even write lyrics. There are problems, the dynamic marks dont seem to actually change volume. The app also sometimes crashes if you press certain buttons, and youll lose any stuff you did if you didnt save recently, I feel it should save every 10 minutes or so. -Connor Ewan Evans(RoboticSausage) -August 27th

Instrument change

How do I change the instrument to saxophone. Like the app so far.

Terrible! It would be my favorite app if it didnt crash every

It helps

1. I did have some problems with the game crashing also, but if I save my music often for some reason it doesnt happen. 2. I was trying to get the trill to work in a flute part and it wouldnt. Other than that I have not really had a problem.

RussellAustin

Best app to have for someone who is a music composer. This is also a great learning tool!

Its okay

My only problem is that you cant write double strokes and diddles

How to add left hand

You go into settings within the song and add a new track. Make the settings for that track to be bass clef and go back into editing mode and youll see the lines to add your notes. I think this app is great! My son is 6 and taking piano lessons, but needs to hear the song to get the rhythm correct. I cant play but I can enter his simple songs into the app and it plays for him.

Very fun!

Some problems though. With the strings setting if you do the "8va" option, the notes dont stop playing, so its a very unharmonious jumble of notes. Please fix. Other than that, this new update is awesome.

crash crash

This app has a lot of potential but I dont think Ill pay $8 for an app that isnt ipad native, wants my ipad all to itself... and STILL crashes in the middle of a creative writing process, wiping out all work since the last save.... if there even was a save yet. This can cause the loss of unrecoverable ideas. That is totally unacceptable. Im not saving every time I add some notes or a measure either. Not if I am paying. Create an auto save or stabilize this thing. I expect the same stability I would get from a word processor or a MIDI sequencer. Is that unreasonable?

Frustrating...

Cant figure out how to add a bass clef line... Very frustrating for trying to write a song...
